Titanium carbonitride (TiCN) is the harder, tougher sibling of TiN, and this HTC family puts it on solid carbide square end mills. TiCN's higher hardness and abrasion resistance pay off in stainless steels, tool steels and abrasive materials where uncoated or TiN edges wear quickly. Its toughness also helps in interrupted cuts, where the edge takes repeated impacts.
These single-end mills are ground from micrograin carbide for rigidity and dimensional accuracy, producing clean slots, shoulders and profiles with sharp internal corners. With diameters from miniature sizes upward and a range of flute counts and cut lengths, this family is the pick when the material is the problem — harder, tougher or more abrasive than everyday steel.
