Built for heat: this HTC family pairs solid carbide square end mills with an aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN) coating. At cutting temperature, AlTiN forms a hard, heat-resistant surface layer that protects the edge precisely where high-speed machining attacks it. It is the coating of choice for hard steels, high-temperature alloys and dry machining, where it clearly outlasts TiN and TiCN.
Because AlTiN performs best when the cut runs hot, these mills are well matched to aggressive speeds with reduced coolant in ferrous work. The single-end, micrograin-carbide construction delivers accurate slots, shoulders and profiles with crisp internal corners, across a broad range of diameters, flute counts and cut lengths.
