1/8" Spoon Cutter, center cutting, single end, 38° helix, 3 flutes, uncoated.

A spoon cutter is a center-cutting single-end mill with a gashed, spoon-shaped end, so it can plunge straight into the material and then feed sideways without a pilot hole. This one is ground from solid carbide and cuts 1/8" diameter on a 1/8" shank, with 1/4" of flute and 1-1/2" overall.

The high helix and open flute form lift chips clear of the cut, which is what keeps aluminium, brass and other gummy non-ferrous materials from packing the flutes and welding to the edge.

The uncoated, polished flute leaves the sharpest possible edge — the usual choice for aluminium and other soft, sticky materials where a coating only adds edge radius.
