1/8" Spoon Cutter, ball end, single end, 35° helix, 3 flutes, AlTiN coated.
A spoon cutter is a single-end mill with a gashed, spoon-shaped end. This one is ground from solid carbide with a full-radius ball nose, and cuts 1/8" diameter on a 1/8" shank, with 1/2" of flute and 1-1/2" overall.
Where the rest of the spoon cutter line runs a 45° helix for aluminum, this series runs 35° with a third flute. The lower helix angle puts more steel behind the cutting edge and the extra flute spreads the load — the combination HTC specifies for stainless steel.
The AlTiN coating forms an aluminum-oxide layer under heat, which is what lets it hold up in the high temperatures stainless generates at the edge.
