An outside chamfering mill breaks the edge on the end of a round part in one pass, square to the axis and the same all the way round. You size it by the work, not by the cut: this one fits over anything up to 3" diameter, and one tool covers every part size below that.
The cutting mouth opens to 3-1/4" with a 1" recess hole. The body is 3-3/4" diameter and 3-3/4" long, and it screws onto a 1-1/4-12 threaded shank, 7/8" deep.
High-speed steel, hardened for wear resistance. The grind is completely chatterless, and the tool can be resharpened many times — so it is bought once and kept, not consumed.
It needs a shank. This mill has no shank of its own — it threads onto a straight threaded shank. We stock 1-1/4-12 shanks in 1" shank.
