Tap-Paste cutting and tapping lubricant — 2 oz Bottle.

The 2 oz bottle is the bench size — enough for a toolbox, a tapping station or a first trial before committing to a case.

Tap-Paste is a hand-applied cutting and tapping lubricant made in the USA, formulated for the operations where the tool is in the hole and the coolant is not: tapping, drilling, reaming, broaching, knurling and hand cutting.

What separates it from a thin cutting oil is consistency. Tap-Paste still flows, but it is much thicker than an oil, so it clings to the flutes and to the hole wall instead of running off before the tool reaches depth. That matters most on the cuts that fail from lubricant starvation rather than from heat — a tap backing out of a deep hole in stainless, a reamer in a through hole, a broach on the second pass.

It works on all metals and on exotic alloys, and it is at its best on stainless steel. The one exception is magnesium, where it should not be used. It is applied by hand, not through the machine, and it does not expire on the shelf.
