This 2-flute high-speed steel keyway cutter is manufactured to keyway-tolerance geometry for producing accurate keyways, slots, and grooves. The regular-length construction balances reach and rigidity, while the 30° helix supports smooth chip evacuation. Its center-cutting geometry supports controlled axial entry, ramping, and pocketing when appropriate for the workpiece and setup.
High-speed steel provides toughness and resistance to chipping for general machining, repair work, and applications that benefit from a more forgiving cutting edge than carbide.
