This 6-flute high-speed steel roughing end mill uses chip-breaking cutting edges to reduce cutting pressure and support efficient stock removal. The extra-long length construction and 30° helix are suited to roughing slots, pockets, shoulders, and profiles while promoting manageable chips. Its non-center-cutting geometry is intended for side milling and requires an existing entry path for axial engagement.
High-speed steel provides toughness and resistance to chipping for general machining, repair work, interrupted cuts, and setups that benefit from a more forgiving cutting edge than carbide.
The bright, uncoated finish provides a direct HSS cutting edge for general-purpose roughing where an added coating is not required.
